Your Mission: Inspect and Detect
Before you move in, many manufacturers will require you to fill out and return a
checklist. This is important. Take the time to do a thorough job. Move from the
exterior to the interior and carefully check each room. Fill it out and date it.
Make sure you include additional items that need servicing, and then promptly
return the checklist to the manufacturer. Keep copies for yourself. A delay could
jeopardize any future claims regarding your warranty.
If you're not detail-oriented, or you're understandably worn out from moving, hire a
professional home inspection service to identify any problems associated with
construction, installation or operation of the home's systems.
